Cherry Cream Cheese Bread

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 8 oz. jar maraschino cherries
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions

    Thoroughly blend softened cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla.

    Add eggs one at a time.

    Mix well after each addition. Gradually add 2 cups of sifted flour with baking powder.

    Combine rest of flour with cherries and nuts.

    Fold into batter.

    Grease three coffee cans.

    Divide batter evenly between cans.

    Bake at 325° one hour.
