- 2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 2 tsp. butter
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can cherries (packed in water), drain
- 3/4 c. sugar
- baked 9-inch pie shell
- Cool Whip
Directions

1In small bowl, put milk.

2Microwave on High 2 minutes or until hot.

3To this, add cornstarch and sugar.

4Heat on High 2 minutes or until thick (microwaves differ).

5Add egg yolks, slightly beaten to mixture.

6Microwave 1 minute on High.

7Add butter and vanilla and let cool.

8Mix cherries packed in water; drain and add sugar.

9Mix well and let sit.

10When filling is cool, drain cherry mixture and fold into pie filling.

11Pour into baked 9-inch pie shell.

12Add Cool Whip and refrigerate.
