- 6 egg whites
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 c. sugar (added gradually)
- 2 cans cherry pie filling
- 1 pt. whipping cream
- 2 c. broken soda crackers
- 1 c. pecans or walnuts
Directions

1Beat egg whites until stiff.

2Fold in soda crackers and nuts. Spread in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

3Pull mixture up the sides of the pan with a spatula.

4Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

5Cool.

6When cooled, spread whipping cream over the meringue.

7Top with pie filling.

8You may substitute other fillings.

9Excellent when strawberries are used.

10Very pretty dessert for a special occasion dinner party.
