- 1 cake yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 3 c. flour
- maraschino cherries
Directions

1Soften yeast in lukewarm water; add melted butter, sugar and salt.

2Blend in egg.

3Gradually add sifted flour, mixing until dough is blended and soft.

4Roll out dough on well-floured board. Brush lightly with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.

5Cut in 1 1/2-inch squares.

6Place 1/2 of a maraschino cherry in center of each square.

7Let rise until light, about 25 minutes.

8Bake at 400° for 15 minutes on greased cookie sheet.
