- 1 lb. oleo, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 5 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. nuts
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 4 oz. each red and green glazed cherries, chopped
Directions

1Cream oleo and sugars, adding eggs and mix well.

2Add vanilla. Sift flour and soda, using 1 cup of the mixture to coat the fruit and nuts.

3Add remaining flour to the sugar mixture and mix well. Chill dough so it will handle easily.

4Then divide into 4 equal portions and shape into rolls.

5Wrap in waxed paper and foil. Freeze until ready to bake.

6Cut into thin slices and bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.

7If they are sliced too thick, they will not be crisp, but like a cake.
