  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 lb. margarine
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 large bottle cherries, chopped

    Cream margarine and sugar.

    Add eggs.

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add gradually with milk and vanilla.

    Lastly add nuts and cherries.

    Will make stiff dough.

    Bake in slow oven for 1 hour at 350°.
