  • 3/4 c. white sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash of salt
  • 2 pt. (4 c.) pie cherries
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 9-inch raw pastry shell

Directions

    Mix sugars, flour, cinnamon and salt.

    Add cherries and extract.

    Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until thick.

    Pour into unbaked pastry shell and dot with margarine. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° for about 25 more minutes.
