- 3 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries (use 1/2 for cake and 1/2 for frosting)
- 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
- 3 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. milk
- 6 eggs
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Add flavoring and cherries. Add milk and flour alternately. Place cake in cold oven. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing from pan.
