  • 3 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries (use 1/2 for cake and 1/2 for frosting)
  • 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 6 eggs

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Add flavoring and cherries. Add milk and flour alternately. Place cake in cold oven. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing from pan.
