  • 1/2 c. butter, melted (melt in 9 x 9 pan)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 can red sour pitted cherries
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and milk, mixing until well blended. Pour over butter (do not stir). Pour undrained cherries over batter; do not stir. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Do not stir. Bake at 325° for 1 hour.
