  • 1 c. or 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • confectioners sugar to make a thick syrup

Directions

    Cream together margarine and sugar and add eggs, beaten in one at a time, and extracts.

    Add flour; mix well.

    Grease and flour a jelly roll pan (16 x 11 x 1-inch).

    Put 2/3 batter in pan.

    Spread cherry pie filling on batter.

    Spread remaining batter on top. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes, until brown on top.
