Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. Kellogg's corn flakes
- 2 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. margarine or butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. chopped dates
- 1/3 c. finely cut maraschino cherries
- 18 maraschino cherries, cut in quarters
Directions

1Crush corn flakes into crumbs.

2Sift together dry ingredients. Measure margarine and sugar into mixing bowl.

3Beat until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs and beat well.

5Stir in milk and vanilla.

6Add sifted dry ingredients together with nuts, dates and finely cut cherries.

7Mix until combined.

8Shape tablespoons of dough into balls.

9Roll balls in crushed flakes.

10Place on greased baking sheet.

11Top each with a cherry quarter.

12Bake at 375° for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

13Remove immediately from sheet. Yields 6 dozen (2-inch) cookies.
