Ingredients: 5 c. corn flakes; 3/4 c. margarine; 2 eggs; 1 c. chopped walnuts; 1/3 c. chopped maraschino cherries; 2 1/4 c. self-rising flour; 1 c. sugar; 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring; 1 c. finely chopped dates; 2 jars maraschino cherries

1/3 c. chopped maraschino cherries
2 1/4 c. self-rising flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 c. finely chopped dates
2 jars maraschino cherries

Preheat oven to 375°.

Crush cornflakes and set aside.

Beat margarine and sugar until smooth.

Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.

Add dry ingredients and mix.

Mix in nuts, dates and cherries and mix well.

Take rounded spoonfuls of cookie dough, roll into balls and place on greased cookie sheet.

Press 1/2 of a maraschino cherry on top of each dough ball.

Bake 12 minutes at 375°.
