- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- confectioners sugar
- 1 (16 oz.) box light brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. broken nuts (optional)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; set aside.

3Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat.

4Add sugars and vanilla; blend well.

5Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.

6Add flour; blend well.

7Stir in nuts.

8Pour into prepared pan.

9Bake 40 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack.

10Sprinkle confectioners sugar over top. Let stand until cool.

11Cut into squares.
