Ingredients

  • 1 box Butter Recipe Cake Mix
  • 4 whole Eggs, Divided
  • 1 stick Butter/margarine
  • 1 pound Powdered Sugar (1 Box)
  • 1 block Cream Cheese (8 Oz.)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and make sure the cream cheese has reached room temperature. (It makes it easier to mix, but I've made it MANY times cold and it does just fine.)
  2. 2
Grease the 9x13 baking dish. (I use glass pyrex.)
  3. 3
In one bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and softened butter. Beat until creamy.
  4. 4
    Pour into pyrex dish.
  5. 5
In another bowl, combine the other ingredients (remaining 3 eggs, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla). Beat until thoroughly mixed.
  6. 6
Bake at 350 degrees F for one hour. Make sure to let cool before cutting (if you can find self-control), otherwise they are hard to keep formed in squares.
  7. 7
I use low fat cream cheese and butter. To me, that gives it a better consistency.
