- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- long grain uncooked white rice
Directions

1Cover chicken with water in a large pot.

2Add salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a slow boil and cook until chicken is tender (approximately 1 hour).

3Remove chicken, discard skin and bone.

4Tear into shreds and set aside.

5Measure broth by the cup and put back in pot.

6Add 1 cup of rice to every 2 cups of broth.

7Put chicken back in pot and bring to a boil.

8Reduce to simmer and cover.

9Cook 20 minutes.

10Fluff with a fork and serve. Serves 6 to 8 people.
