- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 2 1/2 to 3 lb. cut up chicken
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 c. (1 can) Italian tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. crushed oregano
- 1/2 c. dry white wine
- 2 bay leaves
Directions

1Brown chicken in oil; keep hot.

2Cook onions and garlic in oil until tender.

3Add all other ingredients, except wine, and blend. Cook for 5 minutes.

4Return chicken to skillet.

5Simmer for 45 minutes covered.

6Add wine; cook, uncovered, for 15 minutes.

7Skim off fat, take out bay leaf and serve chicken with sauce poured over it.
