- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 slice bacon, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- dash of hot sauce
- 1 can tomatoes
- 4 whole chicken breasts, cut off the bone in bite-size pieces
- 2 to 3 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. cut okra
- 1 1/2 tsp. gumbo file (optional)
- hot rice
Directions

1Combine flour and oil in large Dutch oven.

2Stir over medium heat until flour is medium brown.

3Stir in cut-up bacon and cook 1 minute.

4Add onion, green pepper and garlic and cook until onion is transparent.

5Add next 8 ingredients (soy sauce through water). Simmer 45 minutes, or until chicken is tender.

6Add okra and cook 10 minutes.

7Stir in file just before serving over hot rice.

8Good with cornbread.
