- 1 (4 to 4 1/2 lb.) chicken
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 small onion
- handful of celery tops
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 pt. light cream
- 1/2 pt. chicken broth
- 1/8 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. noodles
- 1/4 lb. cooked ham, slivered
- 1/4 c. slivered almonds
Directions

1Place chicken, salt, pepper, onion and celery tops in pressure cooker and cook until tender.

2Cut chicken into large pieces. Strain liquid and save.

3In skillet, cook butter, mushrooms and onion, then add next 6 ingredients to make sauce (the sauce and the chicken may be combined the day before).

4Arrange noodles, ham, almonds and chicken mixture in layers in casserole.

5Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

6Serves 12 to 15.
