- 1 large onion, chopped
- 14 cup butter, cubed
- 4 -5 lbs broiler chickens or 4 -5 lbs broiler-fryer chickens, cut up
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon pepper
- 1 12 cups hot water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 cup sour cream
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350.

2In a large skillet, saute onion in butter until tender.

3Sprinkle chicken with paprika, salt and pepper; place in an ungreased roasting pan.

4Spoon onion mixture over chicken.

5Add hot water.

6Cover and bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours, or until chicken juices run clear.

7Remove chicken from pan and keep warm.

8In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth.

9Whisk in with pan juices and onions.

10Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.

11Remove from the heat.

12Stir in the sour cream.

13Serve over the chicken.
