- 1/3 c. margarine, butter or chicken fat
- 1/3 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 3/4 c. chicken broth
- 2/3 c. milk
- 2 c. cut up, cooked chicken
- 1 (16 oz.) can peas and carrots or mixed vegetables
- pastry for 2 crust pie
Directions

1Heat margarine over low heat until melted.

2Blend in flour, onion, salt and pepper.

3Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly.

4Remove from heat.

5Stir in broth and milk; heat to boiling, stirring.

6Boil and stir for 1 minute.

7Stir in chicken and vegetables; set aside.
