  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. hot water with 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. molasses

    Beat shortening and eggs together.

    Add sugar and spices, then remaining ingredients and beat well.

    Pour into a greased angel cake pan or will make 36 cupcakes.

    Cook for 45 to 50 minutes at 350°.
