- 1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
- 2 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans, drained
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 2 green peppers, chopped
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 1/3 c. parsley, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 or 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 bay leaves
Directions

1Saute onions and garlic in hot oil.

2When tender, add beef and brown.

3Then add all other ingredients.

4Simmer, covered, about 2 hours.
