- 2 lb. ground chuck
- 2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 3 tsp. chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 can tomato paste (6 oz.)
- 2 cans kidney beans
- 1 can water
Directions

1Brown ground beef; drain.

2Add onion, green pepper, garlic, chili powder, oregano, basil and cumin.

3Mix well.

4Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes.

5Stir in tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar and salt; mix well.

6Bring to boil; add beans and water. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.
