- 2 1/2 lb. hamburger (very lean)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 can kidney beans
- 12 oz. tomato juice
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
- several dashes of crushed red pepper
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. water
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions

1Brown hamburger.

2Add onion and green pepper.

3Add all other ingredients except 1/2 cup water and cornstarch.

4Heat until boiling and simmer for 1/2 hour.

5Combine remaining water and cornstarch.

6Add to chili, a little at a time, stirring and cooking for 1 minute after each addition until you have reached the desired thickness.

7Simmer up to 1/2 hour longer.

8Freezes well.
