- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/4 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- 2 small cans tomato paste
- 2 cans kidney beans
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
Directions

1In a skillet, saute onion and garlic. Set aside.

2Brown ground beef and drain.

3In a crock-pot, mix tomato sauce, tomato paste, kidney beans, sauteed onion and garlic.

4Add beef and bay leaf to mixture. Add spices.

5(Additional chili powder and pepper can be added to suit your own taste.)

6Cook on high for 30 minutes; turn to low setting and cook slowly for several hours, stirring occasionally.

7This will be a fairly thick chili.
