  • 1 lb. ground chuck or beef
  • 2 c. kidney beans
  • 2 c. liquid from beans plus water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 to 3 tsp. chili powder

    Brown meat and onion in oil.

    Stir to break meat in bite size pieces.

    Drain excess fat.

    Cover and cook 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
