  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef or turkey
  • 1 very large green pepper, cut into small pieces
  • 2 very large white onions, cut into small pieces
  • 1 qt. crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can dark red kidney beans, drained and washed
  • 1/4 tsp. dried crushed red pepper
  • salt
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder

Directions

    Fry onions and green peppers separately in oil until soft. Add a little water and continue cooking 15 minutes.

    Fry turkey or beef in oil until red is gone.

    Add a little water and continue cooking for 15 minutes.

    Add tomatoes and kidney beans (prefer Raggedy Ann brand).

    Place tomatoes and kidney beans in a kettle; cook until hot.

    Add onions, green peppers and meat.

    Add red pepper and some salt.

    Add chili powder.

    Cook 1 hour.

    Add water, if needed.
