- 8 oz. ground beef
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 15 1/2 oz. red kidney beans, drained
- 14 1/2 oz. tomatoes
- 8 oz. tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 to 3 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. basil, crushed
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1In a large saucepan, cook ground beef, onion, celery, green pepper and garlic until meat is brown.

2Drain off fat.

3Stir in kidney beans, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, chili powder, salt, basil and pepper.

4Bring to boil; reduce heat.

5Cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Makes 4 servings.
