  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans (including juice)

Directions

    Cook the garlic, onion and green pepper in the oil until soft. Add the beef and cook until lightly browned.

    Add the tomato sauce and chili powder. Cover and cook slowly for 20 minutes.

    Add the beans and simmer, uncovered, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve at once or make ahead and reheat.

    Add water to thin. Can be frozen.
