- 2 lb. pinto beans
- 2 lb. hamburger meat
- 1 c. chopped onions
- 1 large bell pepper, chopped
- 1/4 to 1/3 c. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. crushed chili peppers
- 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- salt to taste
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
Directions

1Cook beans as directed on package. In skillet, saute onions and bell pepper in cooking oil for about 1 minute.

2Add hamburger and brown, stirring often. Drain off fat.

3Add tomatoes, chili powder and chili pepper. Salt to taste and simmer about 15 minutes.

4Add all to beans. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for about 1 hour.

5For smaller amount, use half recipe.
