Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans (do not drain)
  • 1 (15 oz.) can chickpeas, drained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can white beans, drained
  • 1 large can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped in large pieces
  • 1 green pepper, chopped in large pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. red pepper
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • cheese (any kind)

Directions

    Saute ground beef, onion and green pepper in a large kettle. Add kidney beans, tomatoes and other drained beans.

    Add all other ingredients.

    Heat to boiling.

    Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 1/2 hour.

    Serve with sprinkled cheese on top.

    Great with garlic toast.

    Serves approximately 6 to 8 people.
