- 18 soft French or sourdough rolls
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
- 1 (4 oz.) can green chili sauce
- 1 1/2 (8 oz. size) cans tomato sauce
- salt, black pepper and chili powder to taste
- 3/4 lb. Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Cut slit in side of each roll (do not cut all the way through). Scoop out insides.

2Set aside.

3Brown beef, onion and garlic in skillet.

4Add chili sauce, tomato sauce, salt, black pepper and chili powder.

5Simmer, stirring for 10 minutes.

6Cut cheese into chunks.

7Stir into meat mixture and heat until almost melted.

8Fill rolls with chili mixture.

9Wrap each in foil.

10Heat at 300° for 30 minutes.
