- 3 lb. sirloin steak (2 inches thick)
- 1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeno peppers
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- cilantro sprigs (optional)
Directions

1Cut a pocket in steak by making a horizontal cut through the center of the steak parallel to the surface of the meat, about 1-inch from each side.

2Combine cheese, garlic and chili powder. Stuff mixture evenly into pocket of steak.

3Close with picks. Place on grid over medium-low coals.

4Cover grill.

5Cook 30 to 36 minutes for rare to medium.

6Cool to slice crosswise.
