Chinese Barbecue Pork

Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sherry
- 1/4 tsp. Chinese 5 spice powder
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- few drops red food coloring
- 2 lb. pork shoulder or pork loin
Directions

1Mix all ingredients except pork in pan.

2Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves.

3Cut pork into 1 x 1 1/2-inch strips, cutting with the grain of meat.

4Score strips; marinate in soy sauce mixture 4 hours or overnight.

5Line pan with foil; place meat on rack in pan and bake at 375° for 45 minutes.

6Baste with marinade; cook 20 minutes and baste again.

7Bake 10 minutes longer. Serve hot or cold with hot mustard.
