- 2 medium stalks celery, cut into thin, diagonal slices (about 1 c.)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 medium green pepper, cut into thin, diagonal slices (about 1 c.)
- 1 large onion, chopped (about 3/4 c.)
Directions

1Prepare 3 cups finely shredded cabbage.

2Heat shortening in 10-inch skillet until melted.

3Stir in cabbage, celery, green pepper and onion.

4Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring several times, until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
