- 1 cup masa
- 1/4 cup lard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 to 5 tablespoons cold water
Directions

1Bring a pot of salted water to a gentle boil.

2In a mixing bowl, combine the masa, lard and salt.

3Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumb-like mixture.

4Stir in enough water to form a soft dough.

5Form the dough into small balls, about 1 tablespoon each.

6Lightly press your thumb in the center of each ball.

7Add the dumplings to the water and cook until the dumplings float to the surface, about 4 minutes.

8Continue to cook for 2 minutes.

9Remove and drain on paper towels.

10Season with salt.
