- 6 oz. pkg. mint chocolate chips
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. corn syrup
- 1 3/4 c. flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar (for rolling)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Melt mint chocolate chips over hot (not boiling) water.

3Remove from heat.

4Combine shortening, sugar and egg in bowl.

5Beat until creamy.

6Blend in melted chocolate and corn syrup.

7Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and gradually stir into chocolate mixture.

8Shape dough into balls, using 1 level tablespoon each.

9Roll balls of dough in sugar. Place 3-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

10Bake for 15 minutes.

11Let stand a few minutes before removing from pan.

12Makes 3 dozen (3-inch) cookies.
