- 6 oz. pkg. chocolate mint chips
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. Karo syrup
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Melt chocolate chips in the microwave.

2Combine shortening, sugar and egg.

3Blend in chocolate and Karo syrup.

4Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.

5Stir in gradually.

6You may have to chill for a little while to make it easy to shape into balls.

7Shape into balls and roll in sugar.

8Bake at 350° or until the cookie looks cracked on top.

9Bake with oven rack in the middle or at the top level in oven.

10If you bake them too close to the burner, the bottoms of the cookies will burn.
