- 1 (4 oz.) pkg. German chocolate
- 1 c. butterscotch baking bits
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Melt chocolate and butterscotch bits over hot water or in microwave.

2Cool.

3Cream shortening and sugar.

4Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk.

5Sift dry ingredients and add to egg mixture and cooled chocolate mixture and stir well.

6Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

7Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Cool on rack.

8Remove from pan.

9Dust with powdered sugar or glaze, if desired.
