Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups sugar
• 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
• 3/4 c. cocoa powder (I started w/ Hershey's but now use Valhrona)
• 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. salt
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 c. vegetable oil
• 2 tsp. vanilla
• 1 cup boiling water
• Frosting:
• 6 tblsp. unsalted butter at room temperature
• 1/2 cup cocoa powder
• 2 2/3 c. confectioner's sugar
• 1/3 c. milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• Beat butter, add vanilla. Beat in sugar and cocoa powder. Add milk as needed. Depending on the humidity you may not need all of the milk.
