  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/2 c. water

Directions

    Sift 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt together into 9-inch square baking pan.

    Stir in milk, margarine and vanilla; spread evenly into pan.

    Combine in bowl 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over batter.

    Pour water over top and bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
