Chocolate Caramel Bars

- 50 caramels
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 stick oleo
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 6 oz. chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2In a double boiler, melt 1/3 cup milk and caramels.

3Set aside.

4Mix together 1/3 cup milk, melted oleo and cake mix.

5Pour 1/2 of this cake batter into a 9 x 13-inch greased cake pan. Bake in a 325° oven for 6 minutes. Remove from oven.

6Pour the chocolate chips over the batter and cover with caramel mixture. Add remaining cake batter and bake 15 to 20 minutes. Cool 30 minutes before cutting.

7Nuts may also be added with chips.
