Chocolate Caramel Nut Bar

- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
- 1 (2 layer) German chocolate cake mix with pudding
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 c. Planter's walnuts
Directions

1Melt caramels with 1/2 cup milk over low heat, stirring until smooth.

2Combine remaining milk, mix and butter.

3Mix well; press half of cake mixture into bottom of greased baking pan.

4Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

5Sprinkle 1 cup walnuts (chopped) and chocolate pieces over crust.

6Top with teaspoonful of remaining cake mixture. Press gently into caramel mixture.

7Sprinkle with rest of walnuts, pressing lightly into top.

8Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

9Cool slightly.

10Refrigerate.

11Cut into bars to serve.
