- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
- 6 Tbsp. baking cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 c. confectioners sugar, divided
- 3/4 c. nonfat dry milk powder
Directions

1In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

2Stir in corn syrup and cocoa; bring to a boil.

3Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, 2 cups confectioners sugar and milk powder (mixture will be stiff).

4Turn out onto a surface lightly dusted with confectioners sugar.

5Knead in remaining confectioners sugar; knead 3 to 4 minutes longer or until stiff.

6Divide into 4 pieces and roll each into an 18-inch rope.

7Cut into 3/4-inch pieces. Wrap each candy in cellophane or waxed paper.

8Store in refrigerator.

9Yield: 8 dozen.
