- 6 oz. pkg. chocolate morsels
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1Place 1/2 cup chocolate morsels in top of a double boiler. Bring water to a boil.

2Reduce heat to low. Cook until chocolate melts.

3Set aside to cool. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

4Cream the shortening.

5Gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.

6Add cooled chocolate, egg and vanilla.

7Beat well. Add milk, mixing well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in rest of morsels and walnuts. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets.

8Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until done.
