Chocolate Covered Cherries

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 lb. softened butter
  • 3 (10 oz.) jars maraschino cherries, drained
  • 16 oz. chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 bar paraffin
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine milk, butter, sugar and vanilla.

    Let stand for 1 hour.

    Press some of the mixture around each drained cherry.

    Let dry.

    Combine chocolate morsels and paraffin in top of double boiler over hot water.

    Heat until chocolate and paraffin are melted.

    Cool slightly.

    Dip balls into chocolate, then place on waxed paper to harden.

    Age for 2 weeks.

    Yields 75 to 100 pieces.
