- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- saltine crackers (enough to cover 17 x 11-inch cookie sheet)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chocolate bits
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Cover cookie sheet (11 x 17-inch) with foil, then cover foil with saltine crackers, making sure pan is completely covered (see note).

3Heat the butter and sugar until smooth.

4Cover saltines with mixture.

5Spoon over and cover well. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

6Check after 15 minutes so it doesn't burn.

7Remove from oven.

8Cover with the chocolate bits.

9When melted, spread over saltines.

10Put in freezer or refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours, until hard.

11Break into bite size pieces.
