Chocolate Custard Bread Pudding

  • 1 1/2 sq. Baker's unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. cubed stale bread

Directions

    Add chocolate to milk; heat in double boiler.

    When chocolate is melted, stir until blended.

    Beat eggs until foamy.

    Add sugar and salt gradually, then add chocolate mixture and vanilla.

    Place bread in greased baking dish.

    Pour mixture over it; let stand 10 minutes.

    Mix well before baking.

    Place dish in hot water.

    Bake in moderate oven at 350° for 50 minutes, or until pudding is firm.
