Cool Whip; 1 (3 oz.) box instant chocolate pudding; 1 (3 oz.) box instant vanilla pudding; 3 c. milk; 2 1/2 c. sugar; 3/4 c. water; 1/2 c. light corn syrup; 2 egg whites; 1 tsp. vanilla extract; 1 c. chopped walnuts; 8 to 10 maraschino cherries, cut into small pieces

2 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. water
1/2 c. light corn syrup

Directions

Combine sugar, water and corn syrup in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved.

Continue to cook without stirring, until candy thermometer reaches 260° or until a little dropped into very cold water forms a hard ball.
