- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 4 eggs
Directions

1Let water, shortening and salt come to a boil and melt shortening.

2Reduce heat to warm and add self-rising flour all at one time.

3Stir hard until it makes a ball around the spoon.

4Take off heat and add 4 eggs, one at a time, beating in each egg thoroughly with a spoon.

5Drop by tablespoons on one greased cookie sheet.

6Bake at 450° for 20 minutes.

7Reduce to 325° and bake another 20 minutes.

8Let puffs cool.

9Cut off tops.
-
10Fill with filling, replace tops, then put icing on top.
